Austin observations

[source unknown]

Frontage roads are awesome...and can also cause crazy confusion.
The city is big. So are the grocery stores. And the parks. Everything might actually be bigger in Texas. (Except for hair...Boise, Idaho and Provo, Utah are tied for first place for biggest hair.)
Hello, traffic. I did not miss you in Wyoming.
The weather is delightful. I feel like we stepped out of February and into May.
We already dig the local restaurants. P. Terry's, I love you and your delicious $2 burgers and shakes.
We've got some ugly bugs here. They like to stay in the same spot, day after day, laughing at my fear and inability to kill them.
The city's slogan is "Keep Austin Weird" and I understand why. It's wonderfully weird. People really take pride in being quirky and unique.
The water here is yucky gross. We now have a pitcher in the fridge permanently filled with Crystal Light-flavored water. Still doesn't quite cover up the grossness, but it'll do.
Austin is pretty dang cool. I think we're going to love it here.

sounds a lot like portland! especially since our motto is "keep portland weird" too! but the weird over here isn't really the wonderful kind :)
mike and i are really excited to get over there some time! glad you are loving it (minus the bugs)!

looks like the adjusting has been good. Although I'm with you on the bugs. I wouldn't be able to kill them either.

I was also wondering if you could email me more info on what you charge to reconstruct a blog. I need some serious work on my An Apple a day blog and I know you are the go to person for that. It doesn't have to be right away either. Just email me sometime.

Thanks Jodi!

Hey girl! Do you live in Austin! That would be awesome. We just moved here about 6 months ago. We are in Round Rock! I have an 18 month old little boy. If you are in the area, we should meet up sometime and let the kids play! Feel free to check out my blog {of course} and email me.

I just found you through several different blog hops, and fell in love with your blog...

especially the part where you live in Austin now, because that is about 15 minutes from my hometown. I grew up in Dripping Springs {west of ATX}, but now live near Houston. The hill country {aka God's Country} will ALWAYS be my home, we're just temporarily here for work.

A few places in Austin I suggest from living there...

Huts burgers- some of the best in town

Mandola's Italian Market-amazing

if you want a road trip, head west and go visit Fredericksburg, TX. A quaint little town that everyone loves.

I hope you and your beautiful family love Austin...its an amazing place filled with so much fun.

Sometimes you have to ignore the 'weird' things in Austin, because they are often way too weird, lol...
