We ventured an hour or so out of the big city this weekend to visit a pumpkin farm. It was well worth the drive, lack of beautiful scenery and all. We watched goats and navigated the corn maze and lounged on beds of pumpkins and gourds. Perhaps the best part was the homemade pumpkin ice cream. I'm contemplating making the drive again if only for another scoop of it. Honestly.
We also made a stop at the Blue Bonnet Cafe on our way out and ordered a few slices of their famous pies. Apparently this place is frequented by celebrities and dessert enthusiasts alike. And it was also fun to learn that my dad had visited the cafe himself years and years ago. I knew there was a reason I loved it so much.
