labor day weekend

I always look forward to Labor Day. We packed our holiday weekend with all sorts of activities. College football was top on the priority list, and will be until the end of the year. I don't mind - it gives us lots of excuses to eat delicious game day food like these brownies and these chicken strips. We rocked the extra day of the weekend in true Hansen fashion, exploring a new outside mall and watching Hallie get soaked in the fountains. We completed the day with an evening run on our favorite trail at our favorite park.

I hate to accuse summer of wearing out its welcome, but there's only so much sun and heat and laziness that can be had before I'm ready for a break. Not that this time of year in Texas is any different than the rest of the summer (or spring, for that matter) but I'd like to think a chill in the air is just around the corner.
